Climb distance

Postby BobWagnerBrisbane on Tue Nov 23, 2010 5:31 am

Does anyone know if you can find the climb distance. I am not talking about total Ascent or decent, but actual distance you travelled while climbing.
My wife asked me this yesterday after we did a 50km ride from the top of a local Mt, down the steep side, around to the other side and back up the long side.

You can look at individual climbs by using the option-click and drag feature to select a region and look at the stats. In addition to the average and maximum grade info, you will also see the distance of that segment.

I actually did my own calculations by exporting a CSV file and using Excel. My wife had 25km of climbing, 10km of flat and 15km down hill.
Thank you Mr Excel.

I might be missing something that you are asking, for a known climb, but I use the lap button at a known start point at the bottom of the climb. I hit it again at the top at a known finish point. I am then able to click on the lap and see all the statistics. Your wife is doing it the way I would do it if I wanted to see a climb that I did not use the lap feature.
